sixth month check up

The results of the Appointment today were as follows,

weight: 16lbs 12oz.
height: 26.5 inches

Everything looks great. He is a healthy growing boy. Only the 25th percentile for his weight, but with him sitting up and playing so much he burns more calories. And as he starts to move more and tries to crawl he will burn more. Thus, in my mind, being able to wear his clothes longer!! Yay!
Life is going well!

Mommy's New Book

Upon reccomendation from a mother friend of mine, I purchased a book called "Mommy Made* *and Daddy too!" by Martha and David Kimmel. I bought the book used, and it has seen better days, but the words are good. I have been skimming through some things and reading others intently.
I read the sentence,

"In any event, your baby has a great need to touch , see, smell, mush, and smear food before deciding to eat it."

Up till now Jordan and I have just 'fed' Titus. This sentence changed the way I thought about introducing food to him. It made perfect sense. Children explore thier world by using all of thier senses, why should eating be any different. The book goes on to say he will learn table manners later by emulating us at the dinner table.

How did we do? tell us what you think he is eating!
Boy, did he enjoy mushing!!

yummy!!

Check out our new Teeth!! and our Messy breakfast. He is enjoying food. This is applesauce so it doesn't show up as well as the squash, but it still gets messy. We took a bath after these photos were taken. He gets food everywhere, even on his toes!!

March photo's

So many things to talk about! Titus is getting two teeth! If you closely at the photo you can see a little white stripe!!! Oh, life is getting so much more fun and exciting. Titus is rolling over and sitting up. Sometimes he forgets how, but he remembers soon enough. It is fun to watch and encourage him. We also get super messy at meal time. Wow, but we truly enjoy the mess and the food.

A New Week

I had a dream the other night. I sat Titus down to play and he jumped up and started running around!! While this isn't reality, it might be close. He is sitting up by himself! Not totally, and not all the time. Sometimes he acts like he forgets how. He is so funny to watch!

Titus has tried squash! He didn't seem to like it at first, but has learned to enjoy it. We will be starting to introduce many more new and exciting tastes to his fresh palate. Along with eating, there is another first. A tooth is beginning to emerge!! Now not only do we get messy, we get a bit fussy easy too. Lots of cuddling and patting of his back.
